Lanny and Marie Yeates: Paul M. Hebert Law Center

Marie and I met at LSU during summer classes before we graduated in 1977. While she completed her undergraduate work in August, I graduated in December after serving in the United States Navy. During that summer, we discussed our hopes and plans for the future, married a year later and attended the LSU Law School.

Our undergraduate and law degrees from LSU have provided us with an enormous advantage. High in importance is the understanding that, with hard work, personal and professional accomplishments of LSU graduates are limited only by their desire to make a better future for themselves.

Looking back on our years on campus, we think of the opportunities that arose for us. The friendships we made during that time have deepened through the years because of the camaraderie that exists among LSU graduates.

The FOREVER LSU campaign has struck a chord with both Marie and me. Our gift to LSU has been made for those who come after us and for their hopes and dreams. Their potential is limitless and expectations have never been higher.
