When I graduated from High School, thanks to Coach Hill I had an opportunity to come play baseball at LSU as a walk-on. We weren't a powerhouse school so we never had recruiters come and watch our games.

Unfortunately that meant that there would be the Out of State tuition to pay since I am from Texas. My parents were already paying out a lot of money for my brother who was attending Texas A&M, as well as my sister that was attending Lubbock Christian University. They would not be able to afford my going to LSU also. So, I had to set my baseball dream aside and attend a small Junior College who had offered me a full ride scholarship as a music major.

Over the years since then, I have been able to attend many games at LSU. I have experienced Saturday nights in 'Death Valley' and I watch them every time they have a televised game. I have sat in the bleachers at the old Alex Box and watched practices and watched the Tigers when they have been to the College World Series. I celebrate the Victories and I cry at the Defeats. I may have never attended LSU as a student or athlete but I often wonder what it would have been like to take that field wearing Purple and Gold. Where would those experiences have taken my life had I been able to fulfill that dream?

With that said, the reason I chose to support the LSU school of music is I would like to afford someone the chance to fulfill their dream of attending LSU, who without scholarship money, would otherwise not be able to do so. It is a tough thing to look back on your life and have that one dream that you didn't get a chance to realize and always wonder 'What might have been'.
