Clay and Kathy Smilie

My father's passion and commitment to agricultural research and education was exemplified by his 32-year career in the Louisiana Cooperative Extension Service. My mother's support and successes working many years in Personnel Services, Student Affairs, and the Department of Geography & Anthropology demonstrated her dedication to family and hard work serving others. They influenced the next generation in their three grown children, all of whom are LSU graduates. In memory of Joseph L. and Estell W. Smilie and their life's work at LSU, we make our bequest to promote the study of agriculture and help continue a long tradition of academic achievement for generations to come.
